You might have learned how to make Roman capital letters when you were a kid, or maybe you went right to a keyboard, but most of us take them for granted. However, capital letters on the Trajan Column in ancient Rome are the source for most of the fonts we use even today. They are also a good starting point for learning the art of calligraphy, that is, beautiful handwriting.
In this class, we will study the proportions of what can be beautiful, not boring, letters as we trace and draw the basic forms and write some words with them. We will start by using a pencil and then will try using calligraphic tools. Any level of experience is welcome. Materials provided."
